Our partners are Wheelock organizations and businesses and local, regional and statewide groups.

The listing here is in no particular order.

The Town of Wheelock manages our funds and provides meeting and event space at the Wheelock Town Hall. The Town acts as an umbrella organization enabling us to apply for small grants. Our Town Clerk and Treasurer has been an extraordinary partner.

The Friends of Miller’s Run School partner with us on events, and the school helps us with marketing. This public school, located in Sheffield, serves Wheelock and Sheffield students pre-K through Grade 8.

With expansive views from atop a huge hill, Chandler Pond Farm is one of the most beautiful places in Wheelock. The Dill family produces grass fed beef, hay, veggies and flowers, pick your own strawberries and blueberries, and maple syrup made the old fashioned way over a wood fire.

Wheelock Then and Now is a moderated Facebook group website to share photos and memories of Wheelock and its residents - past and present. It is also a place for local announcements and town-related postings.

Vermont Community Foundation was established in 1986 as a permanent source of support for the state. VCF is a family of hundreds of funds and foundations created by Vermonters to serve their charitable goals.

VCF awarded us a Spark! Connecting Community grant in 2019 to help us develop economic and social opportunities and create a vibrant town.

Two Tamales is a Tomasi family business begun in 2019, making tamales for sale to restaurants, farmers' markets and the public. In addition, this venture sells its tamales, plus a variety of Mexican foods, burgers, hot dogs and more through its food truck.

Two Tamales has provided food and hosted events for us. The Wheelock Way is a secluded rustic lodge that’s perfect for special events year round.

The Community Seed Exchange (CSE) at the Barton Public Library helped us develop our own annual spring Wheelock Seed Swap in 2019 and 2020. For more information, see the events page. The CSE shares not only seeds but advice on backyard gardening topics from composting to beekeeping to apple grafting.

The CSE is a project of the University of Vermont Extension Master Gardener program. Learn more here.

VCRD is a private non-profit helping Vermonters and Vermont communities develop their capacity to create a prosperous and sustainable future through coordination, collaboration, and the effective use of public and private resources.

We worked alongside the Town with VCRD on the Wheelock’s Future forums in January and February 2020. Read the report here. For more information visit our events page.

At Pineberry Farm on the side of Wheelock mountain, the Potter family has produced Christmas trees for over half a century. Surely this is one of the oldest farms in town. This 200 acre plantation lies on a mountainous ridge with gradually sloping fields of tens of thousands of balsam and fraser fir trees. Remember they grow best in this cold, perfect climate, with superb soil drainage. The farm offers trees and brush, wholesale, choose and cut, or grab and go.
